Her wine brand, Kylie Wines, launched in 2020 but hit the U.S. market this year. She told The Associated Press in a recent interview that she got the idea while sipping a glass of wine on a hot night in Nashville, Tennessee.
"The light was coming through this glass. And I just. I don't know. The words came out of me, I said I'd love to have my own rosé one day," said Minogue. She kicked off the launch with a June performance at Café Carlyle. The venue is part of the historic Carlyle Hotel where several former American presidents and heads of state have stayed. "The Loco-motion" singer called it a "pinch me moment." "My team was saying, we actually haven't heard you sound like that before," said Minogue. After 30 years living in the United Kingdom, Minogue relocated to Australia this past year to be closer to family. She said past visits to the place where her "heart is" felt rushed. The move offered a chance to make the most of her time with loved ones. "It would be hurry up and have quality time. You don't have for long, have quality time," said Minogue. "And now I feel like I go back and I try to tell myself. Go slow and enjoy normal time." The music icon survived breast cancer in 2005. Minogue turned 54 in May and said she is grateful to still be doing what she loves. "I think my curiosity is the same as it ever was, which is reassuring," said Minogue. "Yeah, I'm just thankful to still be as inspired, maybe even more inspired." The "Neighbours" alum is in the studio this month working on her next album which she's "jazzed about."
